LDL-C

Direct Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol or "LDL-C" is a measurement of the “bad” cholesterol that can be harmful to your health at elevated levels.

Elevated LDL can interact with other substances and contribute to plaque build-up in your arteries leading to atherosclerosis.

HDL-C

High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol or "HDL-C" is a measurement of your “good” cholesterol.

Higher levels of HDL are generally associated with reduced cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk.

Triglycerides

Triglycerides (TG) are the fats of the bloodstream. They can be used for energy or transported to fat cells to store energy for later.

Most of the fats you eat are triglycerides, but the body can also make its own triglycerides.

High triglycerides can help reveal an issue with high blood sugar, such as insulin resistance, prediabetes, or diabetes. High triglycerides are a risk factor for heart disease, strokes, and may also be a sign of fatty liver disease.
